Cheering Guidelines
Updated 4.26.23
Cheering Non-negotiables
Allow coaches to coach the players, families refrain from coaching from the sidelines
Team and Spectator Cheers: Any team cheers should be for their own players, not against the other team or pitcher (i.e. pitcher pitcher look at me, we want a pitcher, not a belly itcher, watch the pitcher, watch watch the pitcher., etc).
Pitcher in windup means cheering MUST stop
Best Practices Suggestions
Coaches: Choose a coach who will be responsible for talking to batters - this reduces noise, overstimulation, and reduces chance for injury while players are looking at parents/coaches while in the box about to receive a pitch. Reminder as soon as a batter is in the box, a pitch may be released.
Coaches: Use timeouts as needed to talk with batter
